Internationally recognized as an accomplished researcher and transformative higher education leader, Dr. Satish K. Tripathi was appointed the 15th president of the University at Buffalo on April 18, 2011. UB continues to experience a remarkable era of growth, progress, and innovation under Dr. Tripathi’s leadership as president, ranking 31 among public universities in 2019. UB has set a course for excellence and is poised to rise even further in the ranks of the AAU, situating itself among the Top 25 public research universities in the nation in the next decade.

“I believe that we can cross a new threshold. I believe that, in the next decade, we can situate UB in the Top 25 public research universities in the nation.”

Join President Tripathi as he talks with Professor George Caldwell, adjunct instructor of piano and director of UB's jazz ensembles, about how Professor Caldwell got his start in music as well as the role of music and the changes to live performance during a pandemic.

We are pleased to share that the University at Buffalo plans to resume our regular in-person instruction beginning with the fall 2021 semester. We are excited for the prospect of current and future UB students having the opportunity to take full advantage of our academic, research and living and learning environments.
