    An article in The Buffalo News on the expansion of a local high-tech firm, Applied Sciences Group Inc., reports the company was founded by Michael Buckley, a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and that recently the company debuted the software for Adult Talker and Child Talker, which is used on portable touchscreen computers to help people with communication-related limitations talk. Other products mentioned in the article, the SmartPill and the Hickey Cardiac Monitoring System, also are UB research spin-offs.
