UB researchers have deployed a simulation-based framework (Wan et al., 2016; Zhang et al., 2015; Hou et al., 2014) to better understand the Human Factors (e.g., driver acceptance and preference) associated with autonomous control features anticipated in next-generation vehicles. The human factors element of accepting these advanced technologies may lag the deployment of the technologies themselves, and applied modeling & simulation have the potential to accelerate technology adoption.
