For Andrew Pasquale, UB has the right medical school at the right time.
Andrew Pasquale grew up in Lockport, NY, just down the road from the University at Buffalo, so he knew “firsthand what an amazing city this is,” he says.
“It is an exciting time to be in Buffalo during the renaissance of the city, anchored by the new medical campus,” says Andrew, who adds that he also likes how the UB medical school emphasizes teamwork among its students.
“The catalyst for great growth and great change happens when people who care about something greater than themselves come together,” he says.
Andrew said UB’s offer of a scholarship helped him decide this is where he wanted to be for medical school. “The cost of college is tough and being buried in student loans is a feeling I know all too well,” he says. “The scholarship helps alleviate this burden and I am truly grateful for it every day.” Andrew is most interested in cardiology and surgery, and hopes to work in a hospital setting or private practice after he graduates.
