Located in 10 Capen Hall, the Buffalo Room has a variety of setups ranging from theater seating for 130 people, to boardroom seating for 34 people.

This space is limited to events hosted by UB’s senior leadership.

The UB Center for the Arts offers ideal and flexible settings for a variety of events and performances, and can accommodate groups from 20 to over 1780.  The Center for the Arts has a varity of spaces for meetings, conferences and receptions as well as multiple theatres of varying sizes. A spectacular two-story Atrium Lobby, topped by a vaulted skylight, establishes a dramatic first impression for visitors to the Center for the Arts. It can accommodate a standing reception for up to 800 people, or seat 400 for an elegant dinner. The skylight and glass walls make the Atrium a room with a view of the sky above or Lake LaSalle beyond. At night, our LED lighting system creates a memorable atmosphere.

For those who aspire to a create-it-yourself aesthetic, the Black Box Theatre allows just that. This theatre can accommodate up to 120 seats in any configuration, providing flexible space for avant-garde productions, experimental theatre, music and multimedia productions. It is also suitable for luncheons, dinner events and receptions.

The Center Suite can seat up to 20, and is the ideal meeting or VIP meet and greet space. This green room space also has a small kitchen.

Featuring over 4,500 square feet of space, The Center for Tomorrow (CFT) ballroom can comfortably accommodate a wide range of events. This space can be walled off and divided to fit your group size or event needs. Full capacity of the ballroom is seating for 150-200 guests. Whether your preference is seated round tables, classroom style, theater style, a U-shaped table or boardroom set up, the 3 Pillars Catering Sales Team will work with each client to tailor to their needs. In addition to the ballroom, CFT also offers two conference rooms and a covered, outdoor patio that can accommodate up to 100 guests.

Centrally Scheduled Spaces are reserved through the Office of the Registrar. There is no fee to use Centrally Scheduled Space. Please note all events will be public on the calendar.

UB’s GRoW Clean Energy Center is available for use as a tour, meeting and event space for small groups.

Permanently situated at 150 Service Center Road on UB's North Campus on the edge of a 3,200-panel Solar Strand, this ultra-energy-efficient demonstration home was originally built by students, faculty and staff for a national competition and now serves as a clean energy education center.

The center’s standard indoor design accommodates up to 13-15 people. In good weather, the GRoWlarium can seat an additional 12 people. The space includes a conference room, a greenhouse and solarium called the GRoWlarium, a wraparound deck with outdoor seating, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Sliding open an accordion door turns the conference room into a larger presentation area with seating for an additional audience in the GRoWlarium, which was originally designed to be used to grow food year-round.

The Honors Colloquium Room is a multipurpose room that can be arranged in a standard, U-shape configuation or theater style.

The Jeanette Martin Room is located at 567 Capen Hall. The standard room set-up includes 20 chairs around the tables forming an open rectangle. An additional 15-20 chairs are located around the perimeter of the room bringing the capacity to 40 people. Set-up of the room should remain in the standard configuration. Reservations are not to rearrange any of the tables and chairs in the room.

The Student Unions has a variety of spaces including multiple conference, meeting and reception spaces and two theatres.

Located at 202 Norton Hall, the University Club is open during the fall/spring semesters Monday-Friday 8:30am-10am for a continental breakfast & 11am-2pm for the lunch buffet. The University Club dining room is a place where faculty/staff and their guests can convene, socialize and enjoy fresh, chef-inspired creations in an open-seating space.

Two conference rooms are available, each room with the capacity of 10 persons, or the room can be opened fully to a capacity of 20 persons.

To book the Conference Rooms inside the University Club, log into the UB Space Request System. Select “book now” next to the University Club Conference Rooms. Enter your date and time information and click “Search” under Locations on the left hand side.

To view and book non-athletic outside spaces, log into the UB Space Request System. Select “book now” next to Student Union & Harriman Hall Reservation Request. UB Recreation oversees various facilties on campus.

Located in Baird Hall, this 150-seat space is well-suited for chamber music, solo recitals and smaller events. Like Lippes, Baird Recital Hall includes a 5.1 surround sound system for speaking and video projection. Its compact size allows for a more direct connection between performers and audience.

The Center's 1,748-seat Mainstage is the largest of our four theatres. It is unique not only for its outstanding facilities, but also for the niche it fills in existing area performance space.  Our theatre is ideal for national touring concerts, comedians, dance, theatrical productions, presentations and more.

The 378-seat Drama Theatre is an intimate space ideal for plays, musicals, dance, and presentations. With an adjustable-width proscenium, 40 line-sets, a fully trapped stage and an orchestra pit for 40 musicians. It's an ideal setting for creating synergy between audience and performer. Each seat offers a spectacular view.

The 210-seat Screening Room is suitable for digital screenings and film festivals, as well as video art productions, speakers and panel discussions, poetry readings and press conferences. The recently updated projection system is 1080p HD capable for computer and Blu-Ray projection, with 7.1 surround sound.

This unique “diamond-in-a-diamond” shaped space seats up to 240 and yet still manages to have an intimate feel. The theatre can be booked by anyone. Theatre and Dance Faculty, Staff and Students should reserve the space through the UB Space Request System. All other UB employees should contact Ally Hasselback.

Located in Slee Hall, Lippes Concert Hall is a performance venue that seats up to 670 people and serves as our main performance venue. It is equipped with a PA system for speaking and video projection, making it suitable for concerts, lectures and multimedia events. The hall is designed with acoustics in mind, ideal for large ensembles and public programs. The centerpiece of Lippes Concert Hall, the C.B. Fisk organ, is one of the East Coast’s premier teaching instruments.
