This project explores how survivin, a key protein in stiffness-dependent cellular processes, regulates vascular and cardiac cell behaviors linked to cardiovascular diseases.
Our project aims to enhance the use of adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) as gene therapy vectors, the student will learn to make these viruses and modify them to improve their therapeutic capacity, particularly in central nervous system disorders.
Students will identify gene regulatory sequences in insect genomes using the "SCRMshaw" software pipeline developed in my laboratory, and/or work on improvements to this pipeline.
