What I did

Regenerative dentistry aims to promote directed differentiation of stem cells. Predominant focus of these efforts has been genetic manipulations, the epigenetic roles of the extracellular matrix (ECM) mechanics have been poorly investigated. This project aims to dissect the cellular responses of odontoblasts to matrix mechanics utilizing differential stiffness in polymeric matrices.

What I Learned

Amidst this exploration, I experienced significant growth. While the project deepened my understanding of cellular interactions, my proudest achievement was the development of a robust teamwork skill set. Collaborating with mentors and peers not only advanced our research but also fostered enduring relationships. Additionally, I witnessed a marked improvement in my time management, allowing for enhanced organization and productivity. Above all, this experience honed my critical thinking abilities, crucial for solving complex scientific puzzles and devising innovative solutions, both in academia and future professional pursuits. These research endeavors offer invaluable hands-on experiences and skill development opportunities essential for personal and professional advancement, preparing students for multifaceted roles in their future careers.
