Selection Criteria

The University at Buffalo is committed to admitting students who demonstrate the potential to succeed at UB but may not meet standard admissions requirements.

Students who are capable and willing to add their unique talent to UB’s community of learners are selected to join ACE at their point of admission to UB.

Eligibility is based on students’ SAT scores, high school average and other personal attributes.

Program Requirements

Once enrolled in the ACE program, students are required to:

  • Attend an ACE orientation.
  • Live in the ACE Living Learning Community (mandatory for first-year ACE students who reside on campus).
  • Attend a mandatory meeting held in the fall of their first year.
  • Attend a mandatory exit meeting in the spring of their second year.
  • Contact their ACE Success Coach a minimum of three times per semester.
  • Attend a minimum of two workshops each semester.
