American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Volwiler Research Achievement Award

The Volwiler Research Achievement Award annually recognizes an individual within pharmacy education as one of the leading researchers in pharmaceutical and clinical sciences, pharmacy practice, and social and administrative sciences. Recipients are also recognized for their leadership within their discipline.

Marilyn E. Morris

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

SUNY Distinguished Professor of pharmaceutical sciences, Marilyn Morris, PhD, is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the International Pharmaceutical Federation.  A leader in the pharmaceutical field, she is past president of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, a member of advisory committees for the FDA and EPA, and an elected executive committee member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation’s Board of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Morris is one of the world’s preeminent scholars in membrane transport proteins, their influence on the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of drugs, and their use as therapeutic targets. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she received the 2022 Volwiler Research Achievement Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
