2024-25 Honorees

Harry O'Malley

Department of Learning and Instruction

Harry O’Malley is the co-director of UB’s Gifted Math Program, which provides a rigorous mathematics curriculum for exceptional middle and high school students across Western New York, and an adjunct professor of learning and instruction. O’Malley has also been an educator at Casey Middle School for 15 years and serves as the Math Specialist for the Williamsville Central School District. An excellent teacher, O’Malley relates mathematical concepts to their real-world applications and his students’ lives. He is the founder of Fill Education and Manifest Education, which provides educators with assessment software as well as principles and a framework for teaching mathematics conceptually. In 2025, O’Malley received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the nation’s highest honor for K-12 STEM teachers.
