Blazing Our Path as a Leader in Legal Education

Bold. Innovative. Fearless. These qualities have defined the University at Buffalo School of Law since our founding in 1887. Today, we continue to deliver proudly on our mission to educate a talented, diverse community of students to promote a more just society and drive emerging ideas into the marketplace. Now, we ask for your continued support as we cement our standing and impact as one of America’s leading public law schools.

Alumni and friends have already embraced the promise and potential of the law school with significant generosity—more than $31 million—to the Campaign for UB Law. Now, as we seek to build on our momentum and reach even higher with the Boldly Buffalo campaign, we ask for your continued support as we cement our standing and impact as one of America’s leading public law schools.

We are seeking a $37.5 million investment in a more just society.

Here Is How We Ensure a UB School of Law Education Remains Accessible to All

We believe, fervently, that an equal and fair judicial system must reflect the full range of cultures, beliefs and voices of our democracy. No law school can be exceptional if only the financially privileged can attend. Scholarships are often the deciding factor in where applicants choose to go to law school—or if they can go at all.

Here Is How Great Teachers Create Innovative Thinkers

Our position in a dynamic public research university allows our faculty to offer new opportunities for our students to learn. Now, to further reimagine the School of Law, we seek private support in three critical areas:

  • Endowed faculty chairs: Attracting and retaining legal educators who are at the top of their field
  • Capital projects fund: Re-engineering O’Brian Hall into a more welcoming, connected, cutting-edge learning environment
  • Dean’s innovation fund: Providing the resources needed to drive creativity and big thinking

Here Is How We Make Our Mark on Buffalo—and the World

Our students handle real cases, advise real clients, and make an immediate impact in their chosen fields (and in their communities) through numerous programs, including:

  • The Advocacy Institute
  • Cross-Border Legal Studies
  • New York City Program in Finance & Law
  • Health Justice Clinic
  • Domestic Violence Clinic

Continued philanthropy will support these programs that link classroom theory with practical experience and teach our students to give back.

The Power of Your Investment

As we build on the success of the historic Campaign for UB Law, we strive to keep the costs of law school within reach, align educational experiences with the demands of a shifting legal landscape, and continue to attract exceptional faculty and fuel new innovations. We look forward, with your help, to preparing the next generation of extraordinary law students who will make a bold impact in Buffalo—and around the globe.

UB Fund: Immediate Support for Students

When you give to the UB Fund, your gift today is made available to help support students today. It’s that immediate. Giving to the UB Fund helps ensure our students have everything they need to become thoughtful global citizens, with 100 percent of gifts used to enhance the student experience, including crucial support for research, study abroad, student emergencies and community service opportunities.
