Robert M. Cooper Memorial Fund

Pharmacy students listening to an instructor.

Pharmacy students who exemplify the qualities of ethics, integrity and commitment to excellence receive scholarships and awards through this fund.

Robert M. Cooper, former professor and associate dean of the School of Pharmacy, was an expert in pharmacy law. This fund, established in 1997 in his memory, is used by the chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department to award scholarships to students in the UB Doctor of Pharmacy program, and also to present an annual award to a member of the graduating class for high academic achievement in pharmacy law, and for embodying Dr. Cooper’s qualities of professionalism, ethics and integrity.

A UB faculty member since 1967, Cooper served in a variety of administrative posts at the School of Pharmacy. He was regarded as a leading authority on state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice in New York State, and was also the editor of Pharmacy Law, published by the School of Pharmacy for New York State pharmacists.

Dr. Cooper was honored with the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Rho Chi Excellence in Teaching Award and the only honorary membership in the UB Pharmacy Alumni Association.
