Connect to the UB VPN (Virtual Private Network) with a Mobile Device

Fortinet FoiClient VPN allows you to access UB's network from off campus from a device (Android device, iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) by creating a "virtual private network" (VPN). This is necessary to access UBfs, My Virtual Computing Lab and other services from off campus.

Operating System: Android, Apple iOS

Applies To: UB students who have paid the Comprehensive fee, faculty and staff

Download and Set Up the Fortinet FortiClient VPN App

Download and install the Fortinet FortiClient VPN app from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS).

Use the following settings:

  • VPN Name: UBVPN
  • VPN Type: SSL VPN
  • Server: ubvpn.buffalo.edu
  • Port: 10443
  • Username: your UBITName

Connect to UBVPN to Access UB Services from Off Campus

  1. Tap the FortiClient VPN app.
  2. Tap UBVPN.
  3. Tap Connect
  4. Enter your password in the Password field.
  5. Tap Login.
