The staff at UBIT are dedicated, hard-working individuals who go above and beyond to provide UB with exceptional service and cutting-edge technology. UBIT is proud to welcome the following talented individuals who joined within the past year.

Christopher Serafini joined UBIT in August 2017 as a Client Technologies Technician with IT Customer Service. He has wanted to work at UB since he was in high school.

Christopher ensures that UB staff have the necessary tools to get their jobs done. He finds that helping people is the more rewarding aspect of his job, particularly when he is able to make someone’s work day better. When he’s not at work, Christopher enjoys hiking, listening to music, and gaming.

Kyle Clarey joined UBIT in August 2017 as an Instructional Support Technician for IT Customer Service. During his undergraduate career, Kyle also handled desktop support as a student assistant with UBIT. After leaving a career as an auditor in New York City, Kyle returned to UBIT. He enjoys providing solutions for his customers.

Kyle is his customers’ first line of support and enjoys building relationships with them. Away from UB, Kyle enjoys architectural design and garden railroading.

Arthur Domino joined Enterprise Application Services in June 2017 as an Application Developer. He discovered his love of web development during his time at Iowa University and has always wanted to work in a university environment.

Arthur’s work helps to streamline and integrate university processes so systems can run smoothly. As a software developer, Arthur’s work involves understanding and building complex systems to directly result in better, more modern ways of doing things.

Outside of UB, Arthur is a fiction writer, artist and occasional musician. He also develops several pieces of software in his free time for his own use. Arthur is working to eventually release a game on Steam.

Tim Nabzdyk joined Enterprise Application Services in July 2017 as an Application Developer. He has a penchant for problem solving and logic.

The work that Tim does helps to make university business processes more efficient, secure, and user friendly. He finds that building something piece-by-piece and seeing it come together in the end as a complete working product is the most rewarding part of his job.

At home, Tim enjoys tinkering with small engines and riding his motorcycle. He also has an interest in permaculture, which is the practice of having fully sustainable and self-sufficient agriculture ecosystems.

Mark Baker joined the Information Security Office in January 2018 as an Information Security Compliance Analyst. This position allows Mark to use and expand on his regulatory and policy skills in cyber security.

Mark is responsible for helping the UB community understand security protocols by translating them into practical, useful terms. Mark finds the evolving environment of IT security and the continuous learning that comes with it to be the most rewarding part of his job.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys golfing and cycling when the weather permits. He also brews his own beer and enjoys taking on home improvement projects.

Tom Yearke joined Network and Classroom Services as an Application Developer in November 2017. Previously, Tom worked as a Senior Software Developer for the Center of Computational Research at UB.

Tom’s work helps to track and manage the activities within the Network and Classroom Services unit. This work is integral to keeping the entire UB community connected. He enjoys finding solutions and refining processes in such ways that benefit all customers and stakeholders.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys both video and tabletop games, activism, and hobby software projects.

In June 2017, Adriana Bork joined UBIT as Executive Assistant to the VPCIO, Matthew Stoklosa joined Network and Classroom Services as a Unified Communication Systems Technician and Alex Herdzik joined Enterprise Application Services as an Application Developer. In July 2017, Talent Tigere joined Enterprise Infrastructure Services as a Senior Programmer/Analyst.
