As of Wednesday, January 25, 2017, UBIT is upgrading its ReCAPTCHA to Google’s ReCAPTCHA 2.0.
When faculty and staff previously logged into UBmail Powered by Exchange, they complained they had trouble reading the ReCAPTCHA – the text entered to prove you’re a real person and not some bot. We listened.
Instead of trying to decipher fuzzy, wavy text, hard to read house numbers or street names, faculty and staff click a box to indicate they are not a robot, and, if prompted, select pictures of a certain object (for instance, all street signs or trees) from a grid of photos.
The new ReCAPTCHA is just as secure as the previous one, but easier to use.
