Joe Ferguson (UB Student, Class of 2019) was born in Sacramento, CA, but currently lives in Lockport, NY. He is studying Marketing/Public Relations and Communications. He hopes to get a job in as a marketing person or PR agent for a California-based company when he graduates.

If you use the Wi-Fi at UB, you may see a notice on your device asking you to accept a new Wi-Fi certificate in order to continue connecting. This is safe to accept, and part of a routine update.

What to look for

As shown below, the exact appearance of the request will vary depending on whether you are in a Wi-Fi “boosted” or “non-boosted" building.

Why is this change happening?

Wi-Fi certificates help your devices know that the Wi-Fi in the area can be trusted, and let you connect whenever you are on campus without hassle.

Having trouble?

If you are unable to re-connect, try these instructions.
