Running QuickTime on your Windows machine? UBIT recommends that you uninstall it, as cybersecurity experts discovered two bugs that can leave your machine vulnerable to hackers and viruses. As of April 19, 2016, Apple is no longer supporting or updating QuickTime for Windows.
The bugs, identified by a global security software company called Trend Micro, could allow hackers to take control of a Windows PC by directing QuickTime customers to malicious web pages.
This warning only applies to Windows machines. Apple customers will continue to receive support and updates for QuickTime.
