Joe Ferguson (UB Student, Class of 2019) was born in Sacramento, CA, but currently lives in Lockport, NY. He is studying Marketing/Public Relations and Communications. He hopes to get a job in as a marketing person or PR agent for a California-based company when he graduates.

UB Information Technology is excited to welcome several new members to the staff.

In February 2016, Ron Ternowski joined Network and Classroom Services as Manager of Network Engineering. When asked why he wanted to work for UBIT, Ron said, “I heard that UBIT was working on cutting edge innovations and I wanted to be a part of it.” Ron’s work helps to ensure that the UB infrastructure is adaptable and designed to deliver the information that the faculty, staff and students need in a fast, efficient manner.

“The thing I find personally rewarding about my job is the ability to help the UB students of today be the leaders of tomorrow,” Ron added. Away from UB, Ron enjoys reading and woodworking. He also likes playing and watching hockey.

Ben Scott joined Enterprise Infrastructure Services as a Unix System Administrator in March 2016. Ben joined UBIT to help support the IT systems that the UB community uses on a daily basis, like UBmail and UBlearns.

When asked what he finds rewarding about his job, Ben said he “enjoys knowing that the work I do directly impacts the faculty, staff and students here at UB.” Outside of work, Ben enjoys writing and recording music in his home studio. He also likes to play chess and video games.

In April 2016, Jason Skrzypek joined Enterprise Application Services as an Application Developer.

Jason told UBIT News that he joined UB because “it is my alma mater. I wanted to help make the UB experience easy, yet rewarding for students.” Jason helps to maintain and develop technologies that facilitate university services. Jason finds that the most rewarding aspect of his job is working for an organization that provides an opportunity for growth in an increasingly competitive workforce.

When Jason is away from UB, he enjoys running and cooking at home.

William Zdon and Kyle O’Grady joined Enterprise Application Services as Application Developers in March and February 2016 respectively.
