School of Management Breakouts Get New Tech

Joe Ferguson (UB Student, Class of 2019) was born in Sacramento, CA, but currently lives in Lockport, NY. He is studying Marketing/Public Relations and Communications. He hopes to get a job in as a marketing person or PR agent for a California-based company when he graduates.

Students with the School of Management can now take advantage of upgraded breakout study rooms in Alfiero.

As of Summer 2016, the rooms are equipped with 42-inch LCD monitors and HDMI and VGA inputs.

“During Summer 2015, we equipped two breakout rooms with technology and it was a huge hit among the students,” Denise Adamski, Instructional Support Specialist with UB’s School of Management, told UBIT News. “This summer, we took it a step further.”

Jacobs and Alfiero are the only buildings equipped with these technology breakout rooms, along with the Undergraduate Learning Center that was introduced during Fall 2015. Currently, there are no plans to introduce similar breakout study rooms in other buildings.

“Students are using technology more and more to study, present and collaborate on projects,” Denise added, “It just makes sense to include technology in breakout rooms in order to meet their needs.”

Alfiero’s breakout rooms (306, 309, 310, 311, 312, 313, 314, 315, and 316) are only currently available for group study for School of Management students.
