This workshop will describe the history, goals and motivations for scientific communication. Attendees will learn to better understand prospective audiences, to command and retain attention, and to establish credibility. Finally, the principles of effective communication will be discussed, including how to prepare, organize, deliver and evaluate different modes of scientific communication.
