Communication is a powerful tool for strengthening the reputation of the university, its academic departments and faculty. Clear, concise and dynamic communication can aid in the recruitment of students and faculty, can lead to better understanding of the goals and impact of university research and can help attract new sources of funding.

This workshop will describe how University Communications works with faculty throughout the university to communicate about the their research. Attendees will get an overview of how University Communications engages with news media worldwide on behalf of faculty and leverages social media channels to raise awareness about research advancements. The workshop will also focus on how University Communications helps faculty prepare to speak to news media about their research and about important issues in the news.
