Why We Simplified

A new face for MyUB

What we’ve changed, how we’ve changed, why we’ve changed.

A new paradigm.

With over half of UB faculty relying on MyUB as their gateway to UB web resources, MyUB had to evolve to better meet your needs.

We listened to faculty input through surveys, usage analysis and meetings with faculty stakeholders. The new MyUB incorporates all of the findings into a leaner, more easily maneuvered interface that can be tailored to your purposes—with more improvements planned for the near future. MyUB is now the simple and powerful connection to UB that you wanted.

Foremost, you asked for a less cluttered site, with clearer navigation to the information you need. We streamlined the site to make it easier for you to access the tools that you need most.

You also asked for a better search engine, with departmental and personal directories included. Closer integration of tools like UB Learns, course schedules and the libraries were identified as areas for improvement, and you want to customize the site with precisely the tools you rely on most.

In this new paradigm:
  • » MyUB home functions as a customized information center featuring UB news, events and announcements.
  • » Your secondary pages function as task centers supplying you with all of the critical applications you need for your teaching, research or advisement roles, laid out in a clear easy to use index.
  • » An improved search for allows users to find content in the UB webspace.
  • » And you can personalize MyPage with channels of choice that provide the specific information you want, while the Need to Know center keeps you informed of key campus events, news and opportunities.
