This course provides core knowledge and skills required for frontline manufacturing jobs. Curriculum is provided by the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) – a national training, assessment and certification system. Content is based on industry-defined and federally endorsed national standards, and prepares candidates for entry-level to supervisory production roles. The course educates candidates in four production modules: safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production, and maintenance awareness.

Candidates earn the portable CPT certification after passing all four production module exams. The CPT is accredited under the only global certification body for manufacturers, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI-ISO 17024).

Mr. Baumgartner is an MSSC-authorized instructor in Full CPT. As UB TCIE's Operational Excellence Director, he is a resident expert in the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools who has delivered substantial, validated hard and soft savings across a variety of projects spanning numerous industries. He has 16 years of direct manufacturing experience with a global company in serving as the lead on a multitude of safety and process improvement project teams that have delivered record performance in yields, cost reduction, quality and safety. Mr. Baumgartner develops the potential in others by helping them understand the complexities of manufacturing through his coaching and mentoring experience.
