UB Information Technology (UBIT) recently upgraded most UB technology classroom teaching stations to create a more consistent and accessible experience for faculty. Teaching station upgrades continue for other classrooms this fall.

Consistent touch panels across many classrooms

UB faculty who teach in most UB technology classrooms will now see a standard touch panel with consistent controls and navigation. Additional upgrades are continuing in other spaces.

The  updated  touchscreen is easier to use with improved navigation, consistent button placement, and clearer equipment status indicators with an updated design to match UB’s brand.

Although the teaching station touch panels have a new look, the classroom technology faculty use every day remains the same. Touch panel buttons also remain in familiar locations.

Enhanced accessibility features

UB’s new teaching station touch panels include additional features to help support faculty with limited vision or mobility. The touch panel color scheme matches UB’s brand guidelines that support Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

Faculty in need of additional accommodation to access the teaching station touch panels can now also operate the touchscreen from an iPad or tablet. To request access to this feature, contact Classroom Technology Services

Faster access to classroom support info

Any instructor can now also find quick links to look up teaching station passcodes online and step-by-step instructions to project or present teaching materials by tapping the “help” button on the touch panel.

The teaching station touch panel also provides information to get immediate UBIT Help Center help for classroom support by calling (716) 645-3542 option #2 or visiting buffalo.edu/ubit/help.

You can also find all of this and more information about UB’s technology classrooms by visiting UBIT’s website

Need a classroom passcode for a teaching station?

You can now look up your classroom’s passcode through the new Learning Space Profiles website. The passcode allows faculty to unlock the updated teaching station panels in each UB technology classroom.
