REC: Indoor Jogging Track will be closed from Saturday, July 18 through Sunday, August 9 due to maintenance projects.

The Indoor Jogging Track offers a simple place to walk, jog, or run throughout the year. Located on the second floor of Broadview Arena, it gives members space to keep moving, rain or shine.
Some visits begin with a goal. Others begin with a single lap!

Current Recreation Members with valid membership/access privileges are welcome to use the Indoor Jogging Track during operating hours.
Yes. All members must present their UB ID or approved Recreation membership credential to Member Services before entering.
No. We do not offer guest/day passes. Guests wishing to access the Indoor Jogging Track must purchase a Recreation membership.
Indoor Jogging Track hours are available on our REC: Sports webpage. Because the track is a shared space with Division I Athletics, hours may change throughout the year. Before your visit, check our Monthly Closures page for the latest schedule updates and upcoming closures.
Athletic clothing and closed-toe, athletic shoes are suggested. Clothing should be appropriate for exercise. Barefeet, only socks, and boots are not permitted.
1/6 mile. Six laps equal one mile.
Day-use lockers are available in the locker rooms, located on the ground floor of Broadview Arena. Bring your own lock or use the available free locker options provided. Bags, jackets, and other large items are not permitted on the Indoor Jogging Track.
The direction of travel changes each day to promote even wear on the track. Please follow the posted direction during your visit.
To help keep the track clear and safe for everyone, please step off the track if you need to stop, stretch, or rest.
Sometimes. The Indoor Jogging Track is intended for walking, jogging, and running. Sprint workouts may not be appropriate during busy times. Please be mindful of others and follow staff guidance if the track is crowded.
No. Personal fitness equipment, including resistance bands, weights, and other training accessories, is not permitted on the Indoor Jogging Track.
Stop exercising immediately and notify a staff member for assistance.
Yes. Water bottle filling stations and drinking fountains are conveniently located near the Indoor Jogging Track.
No. The Indoor Jogging Track and Fitness Center have separate entrances. If you'd like to use the Fitness Center, please enter through Member Services.
The Indoor Jogging Track is located indoors, but temperatures may vary throughout the year. Depending on the season, the space may feel slightly warmer in the summer or cooler in the winter, so we recommend dressing comfortably for your workout.
Yes. Day-use lockers are available in the locker rooms, located on the ground floor of Broadview Arena. Bring your own lock or use the available free locker options provided. REC Members can also rent a locker for the semester or year!
Yes. Locker rooms include shower facilities, as well as a sauna and steam room.
Yes. You may take photos or record yourself. Please respect others’ privacy and ensure your recording does not disrupt activities, facility operations, or anyone’s safety or experience. Staff may restrict recording if concerns arise.
No. Food is not permitted on the Indoor Jogging Track during recreational use. Drinks in sealed (non-glass) containers are allowed.
No. Appropriate athletic attire must be worn at all times.
No. Closed-toe athletic shoes must be worn at all times.
Yes. If you'd like to listen to music, podcasts, or videos while working out, please use headphones or earbuds. To help create a comfortable environment for everyone, music should not be played through your phone or portable speaker.
No. For the safety of all members, strollers, bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards, and similar equipment are not permitted on the Indoor Jogging Track.
No. The Indoor Jogging Track is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Lanes may not be reserved for individual workouts.
Please be patient and courteous. Follow the posted direction of travel, pass others safely, and be mindful of walkers, joggers, and runners of all paces to help everyone enjoy the track.
