Games & Challenges

A new challenge could drop at any time.

The Challenge Drop is a rotating feature that introduces new ways to play, think, create, move and connect. Each Challenge Drop has its own instructions, goal and format.

One challenge may involve creativity, while another may test strategy, accuracy, coordination, memory, teamwork or something completely unexpected. Challenges may be inspired by familiar games, current trends, original ideas or everyday experiences.

Some challenges are completed individually. Others invite you to compete against a friend or work together as a team. There is no standard time limit, scoring system or required skill level.

Designed for UB students of all experience levels, HardCORE Challenge rotates between four physical challenges: push-ups, pull-ups, planks and dead hangs. Recreation staff provide the equipment, explain proper form and record participants’ results on the challenge leaderboards.

HardCORE Challenge also appears through pop-up events and on other scheduled dates. Visit the HardCORE Challenge webpage for schedules, challenge instructions and complete participation information.

HardCORE Challenge is available at every Unplug & Play.

A Place to Connect

You don’t have to play a game or complete a challenge to participate. Unplug & Play also offers space to:

  • Meet friends
  • Connect with other participants
  • Listen to music
  • Enjoy free popcorn
  • Take a break from technology
  • Relax at the end of the week
  • Watch and encourage others as they play

Games, activities and supplies may vary by event.
