Fall Break is here, and it offers a chance to recharge with self-care, stay active, and explore nearby spots. It’s also a great time to catch up on tasks while balancing relaxation.
If you’re spending Fall Break at UB, make the most of Open REC: Sports, which offers activities like basketball, volleyball, and soccer. It’s a fun way to stay active and connect with others who are also staying local.
*Keep in Mind: UB Recreation will be closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
For a change of scenery, consider exploring some of the beautiful destinations just a short drive from campus:
Invite a few friends, pack what you need, and enjoy a day exploring the beauty of the season.
Fall Break is the perfect time to focus on your well-being while staying productive. Start by creating a calm and comforting atmosphere in your space to help you unwind. Spend a few minutes each morning stretching or practicing mindfulness to set a positive tone for the day. Treat yourself to a favorite seasonal drink or a warm homemade meal, and use the quieter moments to catch up on a show, podcast, or hobby you’ve been wanting to enjoy.
At the same time, it’s also an excellent opportunity to tackle lingering tasks without feeling overwhelmed. Dedicate a couple of hours each day to schoolwork or personal projects, then reward yourself with downtime or a fun activity. Striking this balance allows you to stay on track while still embracing the restorative benefits of a break. By prioritizing both rest and productivity, you’ll return to campus refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the semester.
If you're staying on campus, Fall Break is a great opportunity to connect with friends. Host a casual Friendsgiving or game night, or invite them to join you for Open REC: Sports for some fun and friendly competition. These simple moments can make the break feel memorable, even when you're not at home.
Fall Break is whatever you make of it—focus on what you need most, and you’ll return to campus refreshed and ready for the rest of the semester.
Take care and enjoy the break—you’ve earned it! 🍁
