BUFFALO, N.Y. — As new students move into residence halls on Thursday, they’ll be welcomed by the University at Buffalo’s new president, Caroline Attardo Genco.
Genco, PhD, whose tenure as UB’s 16th president began Aug. 10, will greet students and their families as they move their belongings and settle into a new academic year at UB, a flagship of the State University of New York.
This fall, for the eighth consecutive year, UB anticipates achieving its enrollment goal of 30,000 students. That includes more than 5,500 first-year students, and more than 7,600 students living in residence halls. (Official enrollment numbers will not be available until mid-September.)
When: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Genco will visit the following residence halls:
Move-in for first-year students begins Thursday morning and will continue throughout the day, as well as Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Note to news media: Members of the news media are welcome to visit either North or South Campus to interview and/or take footage of students moving into their campus housing. Media are not permitted to enter residence halls.
