Vice President for Government and Community Relations
As Chief of Staff to the President and Vice President for Government and Community Relations, Beth Del Genio, PhD, is an integral figure in shaping university policy and ensuring university priorities are realized. The Chief of Staff and Vice President serves as the President’s senior advisor on a wide range of internal and external issues to ensure that presidential initiatives are carried out in support of the university's mission. Dr. Del Genio also serves as the Office of the President’s primary liaison with senior leadership of the university, the State University of New York system, the Office of the NYS Governor, and the WNY State Delegation and NYS Federal Delegation.
In addition to managing the Office of the President and leading UB’s Office of Government and Community Relations, Dr. Del Genio oversees presidential communications, university and presidential events, and directs institutional campus policy decisions involving UB's Office of General Counsel. Dr. Del Genio is an alumna of the University at Buffalo where she obtained her PhD from the Graduate School of Education.
