Time reports experts such as Sandra Murray are recommending that families begin planning Thanksgiving now due to many recent and upcoming events, such as the presidential election and the current war in the Middle East. If the election is in any way disputed, as it was in 2020, there may be events between the election and Thanksgiving that will stoke those fears. While some may be feeling apprehensive due to these developments, Murray notes this apprehension can draw people close together. To the extent that people are feeling unsettled about what's happening politically," she says, “they're going to want to find more reasons to feel good about that holiday and feel good about those close relationships.”
