Newsday quoted R. Lorraine Collins in an article about a University of Michigan study that found that marijuana use among young and middle-aged adults has significantly increased in the past decade as cannabis has gained increased social acceptance and expanded legalization. “Access to cannabis has really contributed to people's use, partly because they don't have to go find an illegal outlet, and partly because I think for some people, that can signal that the use of that drug is OK,” Collins says.
