The Associated Press quotes Adam Rome in a story on how large-scale wind, solar and hydropower projects are the source of conflict for some environmentalists, who argue that such projects could have impacts that range from killing birds and destroying wildlife habitats. With large projects likely on the way, environmentalists will need to accept tradeoffs, Rome said. “There will always be environmentalists that say, ‘No, no, no,’” Rome said. “But they’re not the dominant voice, and they’re not the only voice now. And being practical doesn’t mean it’s not painful.”
