NBC News interviewed Mark Swihart, UB Distinguished Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, about a “tiny house” (it’s smaller than the width of a human hair) built by a team of French scientists. Swihart, an expert in nanotechnology who wasn’t involved in the effort, said “quite impressive,” adding that the fabrication method used to build the house pushes existing technology “in a new way to enable creation of microstructures that could not be realized before.”
