How noise changes the way the brain gets information

The National Science Foundation’s Science360 news service features UB research as its top story today. The research found that prolonged exposure to noise can change the behavior and structure of cells that transmit information from the ear to the brain. The study, led by UB Associate Professor of Biological Sciences Matthew Xu-Friedman, was conducted by a team at UB and Johns Hopkins University.
