Addiction medicine, substance use treatment, opioid epidemic, methadone
Tildabeth Doscher is an expert in addiction medicine, with experience in clinical settings that include a methadone treatment program, an outpatient comprehensive substance use disorder facility, and an extended stay residential facility.
Doscher has been involved in training both seasoned providers and medical students in substance use treatment. She has also worked to build networks in Western New York to engage the community in transforming beliefs, attitudes and knowledge around addiction, with the goal of increasing access to services in the region.
In spring 2020, she traveled to New York City during the COVID-19 pandemic, serving as interim medical director of a rehabilitation center in the area.
Doscher can speak to media about addiction medicine, including addiction as a chronic disease and the burden of social, professional, judicial and self-imposed stigma that many people who suffer from addiction experience.
