The University at Buffalo offers the most valuable merit scholarships in the SUNY system. Honors students may be eligible for a variety of exclusive and campus-wide other funding opportunities.
To be considered for a merit scholarship, the Office of Admissions encourages you to apply by November 1 for priority scholarship consideration. The University at Buffalo accepts either the SUNY, Common or Coalition for College Application.
UB’s top entering first-year students are awarded Presidential Scholarships.
One four-year scholarship valued at $14,000 per year is available to an undergraduate Honors student pursuing one of the following majors: Art History (BA), Fine Art (BA), Studio Art (BA), Music (BA, MusB) and Musical Theatre (BFA). Competitive applicants must have at least a 93% unweighted high school GPA. Visit the UB Scholarship Portal or contact the Honors College for application information.
Established in 2004 by Jeremy M. Jacobs, '60, Stanford Lipsey, Robert G. Wilmers, and the directors of Moog, Inc. to honor former University at Buffalo president Steven B. Sample. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.
