Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

To keep receiving financial aid, you must show that you're making progress toward your degree. 

This means meeting both academic and enrollment requirements set by UB (Undergraduate Catalog), New York State and Federal Good Standing.

UB uses two key measures to track your progress:

  • Pursuit of Program – Are you actively completing coursework toward your degree?
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) – Are you maintaining the required GPA and earning enough credits?

Each UB program has its own criteria for good standing. Federal SAP rules may vary depending on your academic level at the time of review. See specific requirement details at the links below.
