Sofia works closely with faculty, staff, university leadership, and SUNY administrators to support the promotion and tenure (P&T) process. She provides guidance throughout the preparation, review, and submission of P&T dossiers. In addition, she serves as the Faculty Affairs liaison for all UB and SUNY award nominations, coordinating submissions and ensuring nominations advance through the appropriate review and submission stages.

Maria partners with faculty and academic leaders to strengthen UB's culture of faculty recognition by advancing strategic external awards initiatives across the university. She provides guidance and support for nominations to prestigious national and international awards, develops workshops and resources to prepare competitive applicants, and serves as UB's Fulbright Scholar Liaison.
