The Early Career Faculty Lunch and Learn Series is a nine-session virtual professional development series designed to help faculty build successful and sustainable academic careers at UB.
Through practical conversations with campus leaders, experienced faculty, and colleagues, participants will gain useful strategies, discover university resources, and build connections around topics such as mentoring, career advancement, teaching, research, professional networks, and leading research teams.
Starting a faculty career comes with exciting opportunities—and plenty of questions. Starting Strong is designed to help early career faculty get grounded, connected, and focused for the semester ahead.
In this interactive virtual session, participants will hear from UB leaders about navigating the institution, learn from faculty who have recently participated in the New Faculty Academies, and gain practical insight into common questions and challenges that arise early in a faculty career. Participants will also connect with colleagues in small groups and use a guided Semester Compass activity to identify meaningful priorities, strengthen their support network, and leave with a clear next step for the semester.
Come ready to ask questions, make connections, and start the semester with greater clarity and confidence.
Registration for workshops beyond September will open after our first workshop.
