Medical Administrative Assistant.

The Medical Administrative Assistant program prepares participants for front-office careers in healthcare settings such as hospitals, physician offices, clinics, and specialty practices. Students develop the administrative, customer service, and technology skills needed to support patient care operations while gaining an understanding of medical terminology, healthcare documentation, scheduling, billing, and insurance procedures.

What You Will Learn

  • Medical terminology and healthcare vocabulary
  • Patient scheduling, registration, and customer service
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and healthcare technology
  • Medical billing, coding fundamentals, and insurance procedures
  • Medical office procedures, documentation, and records management
  • Professional communication, ethics, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance
  • Administrative and organizational skills required in healthcare settings

Additional Information

  • Patient-facing, non-direct patient care: these types of positions interact with patients but do not provide hands-on care.

Upon successful completion, students earn:
