Home Health Aide (HHA)
The Home Health Aide (HHA) program prepares students to provide essential in-home care to individuals who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from illness. Students learn how to support patient health, safety, and independence under the supervision of healthcare professionals. This program offers a direct pathway to employment in home care and long-term care services.

What You Will Learn
- Personal care skills (bathing, grooming, mobility support)
- Infection control and safety procedures
- Monitoring vital signs and reporting changes
- Nutrition, meal preparation, and basic care planning
- Communication and patient support skills
Additional Information
Upon successful completion, students earn:
- Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center Certificate of Completion
- HHA certification
- High demand due to an aging population and growth in home-based care
- Employment opportunities in home care agencies, hospice, and long-term care
- Strong entry point into nursing and allied health careers

Monday - Friday: 9 AM - 3 PM
Program Length: 3 weeks
Course Delivery - In-person at Schofield (3333 Elmwood Ave, Kenmore, NY)
Program Requirements
Physical fitness and the ability to assist patients with mobility and daily activities
- Must not have any physical limitations or workers compensation claims
- Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 10-15 lbs
