Hawa is a PhD student in English at SUNY Buffalo. She earned her BA in English, creative writing, and history at Canisius University. She is heavily interested in analyzing how melodrama can act as an appropriate as well as revolutionary method of expression, especially when it is found within (im)migrant and proletarian literature.
