Thom Eichelberger-Young is a research fellow and PhD student in SUNY Buffalo’s English Department and Poetics Program, where they work across language philosophy, literary history, and contemporary innovative writing. Externally, Thom is active as a media artist, publisher, “poet,” literary executor, and theorist. In 2021, they founded Blue Bag Press, where they curate the journals ISSUE and RESOURCES, as well as the digital humanities initiatives ARCHIVE and the TINA DARRAGH PROJECT (an actively-edited, freely available, comprehensive online aggregation of an author’s work), and the multi-city reading series LIMITED PALETTE. In 2026, they launched, LFWERKS, a cross-channel “atelier” focused on graphic digital data remediation and the consequences of machine learning, with their collaborator Lizabetta Frankline. They are also the author of numerous books (often simultaneously exploring traditional or non-traditional publication models), including the long poems Pull (“with Joe Ross”) (LEAVE/BBP, 2026), FORYOUv1 (AAA, 2026), Honorific Carcinoma Butterfield Kidneys (Art-E-Facts, 2026), 500 Poems for Lizabetta Frankline (RESOURCES), BESPOKE (St. Andrews University Press, 2019), ANTIKYTHERA (Antiphony, 2024), the novel !GO TO YOUR SECRET ASHRAMS AND DREAM ABOUTBEING GOD I AM TO POLITE AND FINE FOR SUCH BEAST. Their poems, essays, soundscapes, videos, interviews, and other machinations have appeared in FENCE, Bombay Gin, Mantis, Belladonna Collaborative, Ghost Harmonics, Periodicities, Mercury Firs, Noir Sauna, & American Chordata, etc. Thom holds BAs in Literature and Creative Writing, as well as an MA in Literature, from Appalachian State University, in Boone, North Carolina.
