ARI postdoctoral scholars maintain active programs of research in their field of expertise, generally teach one undergraduate course each semester, supervise the Undergraduate Fellows Program, and provide project support as a member of the Asia Research Institute.
Currently ARI has funding to support a postdoctoral scholar in Korean studies. The position is held by Stephanie Choi, who received her PhD in ethnomusicology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2020 and studies the K-pop industry.
