Mission

The Asia Research Institute (ARI) fosters research, teaching and public outreach on Asia and the Asian diaspora to further strengthen the University at Buffalo’s global engagement and build upon its local, national and international prominence. The institute features impactful engagement with the university and the broader community through educational and cultural programming, thereby promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.

Vision

ARI seeks to be a premier multidisciplinary hub and collaborative space that promotes cutting-edge research, teaching and learning about important issues concerning Asia and its diasporic communities. In addition, the institute seeks to broaden collaborations with international partners in order to advance scholarship, provide educational opportunities and enhance UB’s global reputation.
