For Students

The Asia Research Institute (ARI) Undergraduate Fellows Program is open to students in any major who want to learn more about Asian cultures and societies, explore Asia-related careers, and help plan and volunteer for engaging academic and cultural events at UB. 

The Asia Research Institute (ARI) Graduate Fellows Program is designed for UB graduate students in any field who are involved in Asia-related coursework, research, or teaching at UB. Graduate fellows become members of the vibrant Asian studies community at UB, benefit from ARI programs, and support ARI’s work. 

The SUNY Global Learning Institute (GLI) at Buffalo hosts sponsored student groups from Asia and around the world for short-term educational and cultural exchange opportunities in Buffalo.

The Asia Research Institute (ARI) provides funding for one UB undergraduate student each year to participate in the Korea America Student Conference (KASC). Students apply to ISC to participate in KASC and simultaneously apply to ARI for funding. ARI funding can only be offered to students who are accepted into the Korea America Student Conference.
