Next Steps for New Students

Getting started at UB

School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Orientation

Incoming students must attend the SEAS Orientation. This orientation is typically held the week before Fall Semester classes start.

Engineering Science MS: Focus in Data Science Orientation

All incoming students must attend the program-specific orientation where they will go over the full details of the program, plan of study, advising, culminating experience, and more. This orientation typically is held the week before the semester begins.

Selecting & Enrolling in Courses

The program is a cohort style and all students take the same four classes their first semester. Once students have completed the enrollment process, they can email the graduate coordinator at engsci@buffalo.edu to get the registration form to be registered for the upcoming semester. The graduate coordinator registers all students for first-semester classes. Students are not able to self-register.
