Dear University Community:

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jacqueline Hollins to the position of Interim Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence, effective September 12, 2022.

Ms. Hollins currently serves as UB’s Associate Vice Provost and Senior Executive Director of Student Success and Academic Support and Unit Diversity Officer (UDO) in Academic Affairs.  As a consummate professional, Ms. Hollins has provided outstanding leadership particularly in the areas of academic advisement, student support services and policy implementation. In 2021-22, she co-led the Staff Recruitment, Mentoring and Advancement Subcommittee of the President’s Advisory Council on Race Implementation Committee.

As Interim Vice Provost for Inclusive Excellence, Ms. Hollins will oversee the Office of Inclusive Excellence including the VITAL (Visiting Future Faculty) program, the Inclusive Excellence Summit and Let’s Talk About Race series and will facilitate our university’s UDO network and its initiatives.  She will oversee SUNY-based diversity, equity and inclusion programs including PRODiG (Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth).

Ms. Hollins is pursuing her PhD in higher education at UB and holds a master’s degree in general education from Canisius College and a bachelor’s degree in business administration/human resources from UB.

During this academic year and with the support of a national search firm, we will launch a search for the university’s next chief diversity officer.  We are grateful to Ms. Hollins for her willingness to serve in this interim leadership role during this transition.

Sincerely,
