Isaac is a PhD candidate in the English department at SUNY Buffalo. He earned his BA and MA in English from Arizona State University. His writing appears in J19: The Journal of Nineteenth-Century Americanists and American Literary Realism. New essays are forthcoming in American Literature and The Edgar Allan Poe Review. Isaac's dissertation focuses liberalism and its limits in nineteenth-century U.S. literature.
