A new effort at UB aims to create new research opportunities for projects that link the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities.

It’s called the Digital Scholarship Studio and Network (DSSN), and it will officially launch with an event from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Sept. 5 in 320-321 Lockwood Library, North Campus.

Kathleen Fitzpatrick, director of digital humanities and professor of English at Michigan State University, will be the guest speaker for the launch. Fitzpatrick’s talk is titled “Digital, Public, Scholarship: Sustainable Infrastructure for the Future of the University.”

A reception will follow.

The DSSN was created to provide ongoing, collaborative, technical, curricular and coordinating assistance for faculty and students engaged in digital scholarship across the university.

It is funded by the President’s Circle Funding, the College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate School of Education, UB Libraries and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development.
